The third and final in the ‘Star Dreaming’ series from the Royal Australian Mint, the Beziam the Shark coin features a full colour design struck in half-ounce, 99.9% pure silver.
Torres Strait Dauareb elder Segar Passi’s shark artwork is inspired by seven stars in the big dipper and big bear (Ursa Major) constellation which make up the body of a deep-sea predator. The shark’s position in the sky indicates when to plant crops and the timing of seasonal storms.
